14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’”

16 And[a] of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

John 1:14-17

How blessed we are that God showed such amazing grace that He would become a man, come to earth, take our sin on himself, so that we can live. May our celebrations of Easter be filled with awe, wonder and gratefulness for God’s immeasurable love for us!

Healing by Faith

This morning I was reading John 4. At the end of the chapter is a story about a nobleman who begged Jesus to come see his son before the son died.

“Then Jesus said to him, ‘Go your way your son lives.’ So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went his way.” John 4:50. When the man returned home he discovered that his son’s fever lifted in the same hour that Jesus had proclaimed him healed.

We have the same power in Jesus name to proclaim healing. But, it’s hard to believe sometimes isn’t it? We are so dependent on doctors, medicine and procedures that we lose sight of the healing power of our God.

It’s key when we pray for healing that we proclaim God’s promise of healing rather than to continue focusing on being sick. Look at Proverbs 18:21. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Speak life. You can find it right in the scriptures.

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5.

“My light shall break forth like the morning, and my healing shall spring forth speedily.” Isaiah 58:8

Ask God to heal you and speak the truth and promise of His word.

Seek God First

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Matthew 6:33

What comes first in our prayer lives? Is it asking God to fix things, or seeking Him? As the scripture in Matthew says, if we seek Him first, other things will take care of themselves. I don’t mean to say that we should not ask our heavenly father to help us. I believe He wants us to ask Him for our needs and even tell Him our wants, worries and desires.

He is a father who wants a relationship with us, not a magician who just makes our lives comfortable. How much more rich would our pray lives be if we started our prayers with praise, gratefulness and asking God, “How can I serve you today?”

Seek Him first, just for the sake of basking in His love and getting to know Him better!

Please leave a comment describing how you will seek Him first today. Be blessed!
