God Speaks Through Dreams

Do you remember your dreams? God can speak to you through them. Some people tell me they don’t dream or don’t remember them. The fact is you do have dreams when you sleep, even if you don’t remember them.

Throughout the Bible we see God communicating to people in their dreams. Sometimes I wonder if He does that because He has a captive mind, so to speak. When we are sleeping and not running around doing things, He can get our attention!

To interpret your dreams rely on solid Christian resources. My Onar is a website hosted by Evangelist Barbie Breathitt. She has spent many years researching and interpreting dreams. You can purchase resources to explain the meaning of everything from colors in dreams to animals and buildings. There is a place where you can set up a journal to record your dreams online and have them interpreted if you like.

Ask God to speak to you in your dreams, then be ready to write down your dreams the minute you wake up. He is ready and waiting to speak to you.

Pride or Destruction

I asked God what He wanted me to say in this post. His answer was clear . . . “talk about pride.” Here’s what we find in Proverbs 16.

Proverbs 16: 18-19

“Pride goes before destruction,

And a haughty spirit before stumbling.

It is better to be humble in spirit with the lowly

than to divide the spoil with the proud.”

What is pride? It is believing that we can do whatever without God. We can do nothing without Him. If we succeed in business, with family, with friends, it is because of Him. Yet we forget that. We forget that everything comes from Him. Pride will keep you from walking with Him in humility.

Turn your eyes to Him and know that He is the source of your strength, your salvation, of anything that you need. God loves you more than you can imagine. Don’t let pride get in the way of what God wants to do for you.

Take God with You

I was reading Isaiah 58 again recently. The subject is “Fasting that Pleases God.” God speaks through the prophet Isaiah to tell us about a fast that doesn’t please Him. Then, in verse 6 He talks about the fast He has chosen for us. It’s intended to loose the bonds of wickedness, undo heavy burdens and let the oppressed go free. It’s a fast intended to get us in the right mindset to live our lives.

What is the result? He describes it starting in verse 8.

“Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, and Your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call and the Lord will answer; You shall cry and He will say ‘Here I Am.’  . . . “ Isaiah 58:8-9

The vision of righteousness going before me, and the Lord following as my rear guard gives me the right attitude going into any situation. I don’t believe we have to earn our healing, release from burdens and freedom, yet focusing on God through fasting or prayer gives us the right mindset to receive the blessings.

So, let your light break forth like the morning. Take God and His son Christ with you wherever you go!
